Apply Basing Glue with large old brush
Dip your miniature base!
Add tufts for a natural look
Stack it!

Using several layers of basing materials. Like covering you base in Brown Brown battleground add some Battlefield Rocks and top with a few spots of Swamp Tuft to get a nice forest look.
